25 Man Raid group 1 Year ago
There has been a bit of discussion in game and I wanted to put it into a thread on the forums.

I want to hear thoughts about raiding as a 25 man guild.
We will have a clear line of communication this way and we will hear what each person has to say about it.

Keep in mind, this is a move intended to do a few things.
Set our guild apart from the other guilds on server
    Become one united raid group
Learn from each other and become better players
Give me a break from leading a raid group

Re:25 Man Raid group 1 Year ago
Well the 2 week period of 25 mans seemed to have failed since we were pugging more than we got from guild and still did not get a 25 man off the ground once. We also do not seem to have a sense of community in the guild. I feel that there should be a different approach to making the guild a community. I feel like everything in guild has become political rather than fun and there is too much of the "he said, she said" going on. This has caused many people to stop playing in general and the guild has become a barren land in terms of players. This should end and we need to get back to the fact that this is just a game in the end, and should be made fun rather than a way to make others feel bad about themselves.

I propose a new way to bring community back to the guild. it is a multiple step process. 1) everyone makes an effort to be online and talk to each other more. Not about all the crap going on in guild and drama causing conversations, those need to be left behind. We need to actually talk and communicate. If you have an issue with someone, talk directly to them. No more going to a mediator for a simple problem that in reality can be solved in 5 minutes if you just talk to the person (in whisper please, we do not need accusations flying around in guild and causing drama). 2) everyone makes an effort to support the community more. A few people are feeling like they are the only ones actually doing anything for the guild lately and are getting burned out. This means that they are taking a break from things the guild needs (i.e. farming up raid materials. they are only free because we farm them as a guild). If you help your guild you feel more like a part of it. 3) I propose we all work as a TEAM to get the dungeon challenges done every week for the next month. As 5 mans, not just 3 friends who plan ahead and do it. We set up days on the calendar and get 5 people from guild (especially if they do not normally run as a team) and get the dungeon challenges done. Help each other out, talk in vent, enjoy time together as a guild. 4) Do other things with each other like set up groups to do dailies together. Brayden and I do this almost every day with some of our alts and we just sit and do dailies and talk and laugh the entire time. It works really well.

Our guild is falling apart and something needs to be done quickly to stop it. Please take this to heart and make the effort to save our guild and bring it back to life.

Well first off, that exactly what I was trying to tell you guys the whole time. For my part I just experienced the most social and amazing community on another server. SO i most likely spend my times on that server on my alts and enjoy hanging out with guildies in their vent do weird stuff together.
Thats how BB used to be back in the days.
Right now I doubt it will happen again. I barely log on Julz since i feel like in a ghosttown most of the time. If there is anyone online then they most likely arent talking.

So since my times arent matchign your times I am on my new erver since i dont feel like wasting in a dead guidl talking to myself. I play this game for fun.

On the other side I personally dont like the feeling of doing 25s. No one of my raid group wants to deal with that, since lack of computerperformance. So we are going back to 10 mans this upcomming weekend.

Well and the lack of community is caused by people trolling other in /2 or even trolling them so bad that they left the guild. NOW we have issuesto recruit good people and get the community to work again. So thats mainly the fault of those fucking trolling assholes. I dont want to name anyone. Scaring active players away seems to work out good for the trolls. But whatever.

TO BRING BACK BB TO LIVE WAS MY INTENTION THE WHOLE TEAM!!!

If I may ask, what exactly is going on with the raid groups at the moment? Sounds like you guys are going back to a 10 man format, but are missing some players from both groups. I left the server due to the 25 man format, but if that is changing back to 10's I could potentially transfer back. I don't want to step on any toes though, I mean...if you guys are full up I certainly won't stress it. But that being said, I miss Silvermoon. Arthas just doesn't have the same 'charm'.

Well, considering the 25 man raids never happened, it would suffice to say that we probably will not be switching back to that format. The majority of the guild, so it seems to me, does not want to humor this style of raiding. I would have no hard feelings if you wanted to come back.

I agree that there are are few people in this guild that feel like they are the only ones contributing /doing dungeons etc. Need to have a bit more help in farming for the guild, i liked the way Kalindra used to make us farm, she would send us mail saying that it was our turn to farm fish/herbs and all it would take is 1 hour of farming.

As for the 25 mans, wouldn't have been better to just have maybe put it to a vote or find out who can and can't make it, you had quiet a few people leave the guild because they weren't able to or did not want to do 25 mans anymore because they thought 10 mans were over (lack of communication)
I am just saying this now that i lag like hell in most fights in 25 man DS, i know i have a very good video card, but i have been having problems with WoW since DS came out.

As to Lokkey, what Kalindra said, we have tried 25 mans for the past 2 weeks and struggled to get a full 25 people to actually run DS even though it is very early in the morning and it is very hard to pug healer or a tank at that time.
If we did end up going back to 10 mans we would still need to fill a dps and a healer slot, but then again it is always that time of the month when we have to find another healer. (God Dammit Shocktopus)

I will take responsibility for the 25 man failures the last few weeks due to my hospitalization.

The intent was to be the top 25 man guild on the server in just a few weeks of raiding, and more importantly to give Rendaron a break from raid leading. Needless to say me not showing up likely just made it worse.

Working together in a 25 man group would have accomplished uniting the guild a bit better and putting some control back into our organization. I know in WOTLK and early Cata you didn't enjoy 25 mans as much but by putting together a 25 man group we were able to recruit fantastic players and give everyone a more competitive enviornment. I know most of you hated it, but without the 25 mans we would not have recruited:

Julz
Battlescars
Rendaron
Kalindra
Febreeze
Lokkey
Nocuous
Ivanna
Kheldon

and many others who are still in the guild. The idea was by putting control of everything under myself for some time we could reunite in the one thing you all agree on, hating me. In addition Rendaron could get the break he badly deserves.

I'm still Ill but I am out of the hospital. The doctors say it's due to a "High stress lifestyle" (me? Never!). I am not sure when I will be on again, but I am taking the needed steps to reduce the stress in my life. Unfortunately if that means stepping away from the guild and letting you all kill each other until the expac comes out I may have to do that. I will still be lurking around here and pop on from time to time, but its going to be an interesting couple months for me.

Its rough to see things are'nt going very smoothly right now, and I hate not being around lately both in-game and vent. By the time Pandaria releases, I plan to be back in game and doing things with the guild, but it's good to see that there are still plenty of good people working hard to keep things flowing.

My 2 cents on raid format: I don't think most people particularly care which format we run as long as we have the raiders, but I'm one of the ones who prefer 10s because my PC is decent, but certainly not the greatest. It just chugs too much for my liking in 25s, and it's only going to get worse with the next expac.

Keep up the good work BlackBlades!
